There’s a video making rounds on the Tick Tock streets where a presenter of ONE37pm, Will, asks a man who appears to be in his early 50s, “what’s the riskiest investment you ever took??”…..see the video below:

This gentleman invested $10M into a farm that grows abalone. At current market price for abalone the farm generates approximately 60 million in yearly revenue. Abalone is a highly sought after commodity primarily enjoyed by asian consumers. @Will #abalone #abalonefarm #southafricantiktok #seafoodfarm #entrepreneur #interview #wallstreet

An abalone is a gastropod mollusk that lives in coastal saltwater, it ranges in size from 4 to 10 inches. It has a single shell on top and uses a large foot to cling to rocks and eat algae.

Luckily, the investment paid off handsomely in the end:

Abalone has extremely rich, flavorful, and highly prized meat that is considered a culinary delicacy, and it falls under the world’s most expensive seafood. Abalone is mostly sold live in the shell, frozen, or canned.

It is often cut into thick steaks and pan-fried though it can be eaten raw or added to other dishes.
