While its not a requirement for a founder to regularly use his product or service, the rule certainly doesn’t apply to Sihle Magubane, founder of Sihle’s Brew, South Africa’s first black-owned coffee brand.
According to Sihle, he drinks 2-3 cups before he even gets to work, and further more when he gets to the workplace, see the video clip below:
Sihle came from humble beginnings in the dusty streets of Nkandla, KwaZulu Natal. At the age of 16, he had to juggle between being a gardener and a pizza maker, while at the same time, completing his high school.
In 2003, his love affair with coffee kick-started when he was selected to train at the Ciro Coffee Academy. After gaining enough experience in the coffee world, he ventured out on his own by launching Sihle’s Brew in 2012.
Over the years, the brand has seen massive growth, and today can be found in many of South Africa’s leading retailers including the likes of Pick N Pay, Food Lover’s Market, Spar etc.
Apart from the coffee brand, Sihle also runs his own coffee shop, Barista Love in Northview Shopping Centre, Johannesburg.
