Jack Ma is the co-founder of Alibaba Group, which started as an e-commerce company and has since transcended to one of the largest multinational tech conglomerates in the world.

Formerly an English teacher, Jack founded Alibaba in 1999 alongside 17 co-founders in a small apartment in Hangzhou City, China.

In 2018, the former Alibaba chairman came to Africa for the 2nd time and officially launched the Netpreneur prize in Johannesburg, a $10 million competition for African tech innovators.
