SIDSSA 2024
The President’s 19 March 2024 address describes twelve priority projects for preparation support, with a combined stated value above R180 billion. Retain the date and preparation context when discussing the announcement.
Named examples include the Fetakgomo Tubatse, Namakwa and Nkomazi special economic zones; energy projects at Mossel Bay and Fetakgomo Tubatse; Amathole water augmentation; and Rooiwal wastewater treatment. The address also discusses rail, ports, health and education programmes.
This is the dated policy record, not a claim that all twelve projects operate in October 2026. Employment forecasts should not be described as jobs already counted.
Stages and responsibilities
Preparation concerns scope, feasibility, approvals and finance. Procurement selects contractors or partners under the applicable process. Construction and operation follow their own milestones, which can be phased.

Values and timelines
Identify whether the cost concerns one facility, a multi-phase programme or several related projects. Record its source date and whether it is an estimate or contract amount. A proposed delivery year remains a target until the responsible authority confirms the milestone.
For a business enquiry, find the actual tender or procurement notice. A pipeline presentation can indicate potential activity without establishing an available contract for any particular supplier.
Services and later progress

Use the dated policy source for the priorities and the responsible sponsor’s later records for progress. That preserves the distinction between intention, preparation, approval and delivered infrastructure.
