A Coinvest account and a myNSFAS application are different records. Creating a payment-provider account does not approve education funding. Start with checking your funding status and payment record before following an old Coinvest signup tutorial.

Which payment instructions apply?
In its 6 January 2026 briefing, NSFAS said university-led allowance distribution would continue through 2026, while TVET allowances would go into students’ personal bank accounts. An old article naming Coinvest is therefore not sufficient evidence that you must open or reactivate that account for current allowances.
If your institution gives you payment instructions, verify the academic year, your institution and the account requested. Ask its financial-aid office to resolve instructions that conflict with your current funding record. Do not open additional accounts simply because a search result says signup is mandatory.
Accessing an existing account
For an existing Coinvest balance, identify the provider’s genuine website from your account documentation. Use its own login and recovery process. Check the account holder, available balance and transaction history before taking further action. Our Coinvest withdrawal guide distinguishes a legacy account withdrawal from receiving a new NSFAS allowance.
The provider publishes account terms. Read the version applying to your product before accepting fees or using a cash-out channel. An account agreement is not a guarantee of future NSFAS payments. This guide does not supply a default password, invented registration address or an unofficial verification link.
Signup and verification
If you independently choose to register for a provider product, use the requirements displayed by that provider and check charges first. Do not assume an ID selfie, a particular gesture or a social-media message is an official requirement. A provider verification request and a funding application should be completed through their respective authorised channels.
For the education application itself, use the guide to creating a myNSFAS account. Keep your own email address and cellphone number accessible. Never give another person your password or one-time code to register on your behalf. Save confirmation records so you can distinguish an application problem from a payment-provider problem.
