This is What SA Hip Superstar, Blackie, Had To Say About Success

Sihle Sithole, popularly known by his stage name Blxckie, is the new rapper on the South African hip hop scene. Blxckie music has been making waves and topping charts for over 2 years since his debut.

Before his music became well known and turned him a star, Blxckie was pursuing a degree in social sciences at UKZN but couldn’t complete it because of the lockdown and he chose to focus on music instead.

It’s all thanks to his move to Johannesburg during lockdown, which forced to be in the studio recording all the time.

“I came to visit a producer in Jozi and then the lockdown hit, I couldn’t go back to Durban because of the restrictions, so I stayed this side with that producer. We used to make music everyday and that’s how everything started.”

The rest as they say, is history, Blxckie has since become a force to be reckoned in the SA Hip Hop scene with multiple hits such as Ye x4, Big Time Sh’lappa, Hold and so many more.

Achieving success in music is no different than achieving success in entrepreneurship, all the dynamics remain the same. This is what Blxckie had to say about his rise to the top:

success is not just about achieving your goals, it’s about the journey you take to get there. it may take a while, but if you put your mind to it, plan and continuously work towards your dreams, success is inevitable.
