Private Prisons in South Africa: A Comprehensive List

Prisons are society’s natural reaction to crime. Whenever there’s high crime in a country, it follows naturally that there will be prisons.

There are two types of prison systems in South Africa; public and private. They vary greatly in how they’re ran and funded, the rehabilitation activities they offer, the types of criminals they house, and the level of security each requires.

Dangerous criminals are locked-up, and put together in a madhouse, where they are forced to live together with their counterparts of the same feather.

In this article, Entrepreneur Hub SA will be highlighting the 2 private prisons currently operating in South Africa, and also talk about the companies owning or managing them.
